Operation Tourway – Rape, human trafficking, imprisonment, death threats, indecent child photography, possession of extreme child pornography and provision of drugs

  • An investigation into the sexual exploitation of children in parts of West Yorkshire.
  • 8 victims aged 13 to 16
  • 32 British Asian men of Pakistani origin aged 31 to 50 years old
  • In the cities of Kirklees, Bradford and Wakefield
  • From 1999 to 2012
  • Awaiting convictions 

This is not a new case, being classified by the police as an operation carried out on “non-recent” files. Suggesting therefore that they had the case in their hands for quite a while, more than 2 decades to be precise. Why did they wait so long? One wonders… It all started in 1999 and will continue until at least 2012. More than 20 years to carry out the operation? Who exactly are we kidding? Who asked to put the file aside? Why did they do it? To protect who? Nobody knows and the pieces are too small to lead to the slightest theories. Especially since, as usual, it is only the pedophiles at the bottom of the pyramid who are charged, judged, imprisoned. At least we have the list of the latter. About thirty individuals, whose trial results are still awaited. They were due to appear at the Kirklees court on December 11 and 14, 2020. Last but not least, this case, when looked at more closely, is very much reminiscent of the grooming gang of Pakistanis in Telford. Would they have benefited for more than 20 years from the same impunity as this gang linked to Operation Chalice? There is a good bet on that.

  • Batley’s Asif Ali (50) charged with rape (x12), inciting sexual activity with a child (x2), providing class B drugs (x1), trafficking (x1), aiding and abetting rape (x1) aiding and abetting a crime (x1) taking an indecent picture of a child (x2), possession of extreme pornographic images (x1). He was released on bail
  • Amer Ali Hussain (42) of Batley charged with rape (x2) and released on bail
  • Sarfraz Miraf – (45) of Dewsbury charged with rape offences (x1). He was released on bail
  • Nazam Hussain – (43) of Dewsbury, charged with rape offences (x4) and set bail
  • Mohammed Nazam Nasser (35) of Batley, accused of rape (x3)
  • Moshin Nadat (35) from Batley, rape (x2)
  • Michael Birkenshaw (34) of Wakefield, rape (x1)
  • Zafar Qayum (41) of Dewsbury charged with rape (x17), gross indecency (x4), indecent assault (x9) assault (x1) sexual activity with a child (x1) sexual assault (x1) theft (x1) and aiding and abetting rape (x2). He was released on bail
  • Jabbar Qayum (39) of Dewsbury, charged with the offences of rape (x6) and aiding and abetting rape (x2)
  • Ansar Mahmood Qayum (43) of Dewsbury. Accused of rape (x13), attempted indecent assault (x2), aiding and abetting rape (x2)
  • Mohammed Tauseef Hanif (36) from Dewsbury. Accused of rape (x4)
  • Ali Hussain Shah (35) of Dewsbury. Rape offences (x2)
  • Saleem Mohammed Nasir (44) of Dewsbury. Accused of rape (x3) and conspiracy to commit rape (x1). Released on bail
  • Amran Mehrban (37) from Batley. Charged with rape (x2), false imprisonment (x1) and sexual assault (x1) and released on bail.
  • Ebrahim Pandor (41) from Dewsbury. Accused of rape (x1) and trafficking (x2) and put on bail.
  • Shakil Daji (41) from Batley. Charged with rape (x2) and trafficking (x1) and posted on bail.
  • Mohammed Imran Zada (41) of Batley. Rape (x6), indecent assault (x2) and sexual activity with a child (x1)
  • Sarkaut Yasen (35 years old) from Dewsbury. Accused of trafficking (x1) and complicity in rape (x2)
  • Amjad Hussain (41) from Dewsbury. Charged with rape (x2) and released on bail
  • Zafar Iqbal (35) from Batley. Charged with rape (x7) trafficking (x2) and supplying a class B drug (x1) and released on bail.
  • Nasar Iqbal (35) from Batley. Charged with rape (x7) and trafficking (x2) and released on bail.
  • Bilal Mahmood Patel (38) of Leicester. Charged with rape (x2) and released on bail
  • Khurum Raziq (38) from Heckmondwike. Rape offences (x8)
  • Irfan Khan (34) of Batley. rape offences (x4) threats to kill (x1) false imprisonment (x1) and harassment (x1)
  • Omar Farooq Hussain (36) from Dewsbury. Charged with rape (x8) supplying class A drugs (x1) and released on bail.
  • Sarfraz Hussain Riaz (37) of Liversedge. Accused of rape (x2) and attempted rape (x1) and released on bail.
  • Rameez Cheema (33) from Batley. Charged with rape (x1) and released on bail.
  • Nasar Hussain (42) from Dewsbury. Charged with rape (x6) and released on bail
  • Mohammed Chothia (41) of Batley. Rape Offences (x8)
  • Sajad Hussain (37) of Batley. Offences of rape (x1), false imprisonment (x1) trafficking (x1), aiding and abetting rape (x1) and supplying class C drugs (x1)
